The Lydian mode is a major scale with a sharp fourth. This sharp fourth gives the Lydian mode a jazzy, airy, spacey feel. Spend some time playing and listening to the differences between Lydian and Ionian.

To make the Lydian mode in any key, sharp the fourth degree of the scale.
